A Friendly Greeting

That’s what you’ll find when you walk through our doors! Whether you’ve come for a community event or worship or to utilize our amazing outdoor prayer spaces, we know you’ll feel that welcome. While COVID-19 has challenged our ability to be together, we are re-gathering and renewing our connections. There are many ways for you to find a place for your faith growth here as well as ways to serve.

Community Partnership

At New Life, we don’t talk about “membership” because that sounds like we’re joining a club! We want you to be a part of what God is up to in the world and in our community as we join with Jesus as a partner in the gospel. New Life Church is a congregation with a mission to encourage and empower people to become fully devoted participants in the life and ministry of Jesus in the 21st century. And partnering with God in this work is an opportunity to be integral part of God’s presence to families, friends, the neighborhoods and our communities. We have a particular focus on helping those who have felt challenged by previous church experiences or who have felt distanced from God to find something new.

New community partners meet with Pastor Heather to have a casual conversation about New Life’s mission and ministry, and how you can fit into what’s happening here! New partners are then recognized at a Sunday Welcome Celebration held at least once in the spring and once in the fall. The dates of these celebrations are announced one month prior.

Get Connected to New Life Church

There is something for everyone at New Life Church. Getting involved is easy! Just find something of interest to you, and join in.

Adult Faith Formation

Pastor Heather and other lay leaders offer regular Adult Faith Formation throughout the program year (Sept. – May). Most often there are classes held on Wednesday evenings, but other opportunities and offerings may be held on other days as well.

There is also a Thursday morning Women’s Bible Study that meets from Sept. – June from 9-11am.

Children and Youth Faith Formation

Jessica Korrison, our Children & Youth Ministry Coordinator, offers many opportunities for youth faith formation.

Teams in Action

We have many active ministry teams which serve many functions and ministries within our church and community:

WELCOME TEAM – as the name suggests, this team is responsible for how we welcome others to our space. From Greeters and Ushers on Sunday morning, to serving coffee and counting the offerings – these people ensure the proper running and flow of things!
PROPERTY TEAM – if you like to work outside, are handy, or good with tools then this is the team for you! This team oversees twice a year All-Church clean-ups and helps the property manager with other projects.
CARE TEAM – these individuals reach out to others with the love of Christ through cards, meals, and other hands-on caring methods, especially when someone is going through a rough time, following surgery, or a death in the family.
PRAYER TEAM – we regularly are praying as a whole congregation, but this particular group of people feel called to go above and beyond with their prayers. They also assist Pastor Heather with our other prayer spaces and ministries.
SOCIAL PURPOSE TEAM – this dedicated group spends their time seeking ways to enhance our conversations about equity and justice of all kinds. They also oversee the Social Purpose Fund in order to help those in need in our community.

Worship Band

Our Worship Band is really a small group ministry, as we not only get together to prepare great music for Sunday morning worship, we also pray for each other and have grown in faith together. We have a deep love for contemporary Christian music and seek to offer excellent quality so as to invite people into a deep worshipful experience. Prayer Spaces

New Life is very committed to giving people a place to pray and commune with God. Within our building, you are always welcome to pray in our Worship Center or Re-Creation Center.

But we also have an intentional Prayer Room dedicated to the practice of prayer, with Bibles and devotionals for your use. Come and be refreshed in your walk with God today!

Outdoor Spaces

New Life is also dedicated to offering you and your family holy spaces outside in order to commune with God, others, and creation.

Labyrinth – our prayer labyrinth is a holy place. Just off of our parking lot, you can enter this serene space to take the ancient journey of the labyrinth. There is information about this practice just outside the entry.

Prayer Path – in our upper prairie, we also have a more extensive path in order to take your prayer time at a slower pace.

Prayer Garden – We also have an outdoor prayer sanctuary. Our rock garden is just behind our Re-Creation Center and is also a good space to contemplate faith and life.
