Dear Friends,

Welcome to our web site.  I hope that you will navigate through to see more about who we are and about how you might see yourself as part of our church community.

One of our worshipers was recently asked, “Why do you worship at New Life?”  Her response was quick, “It’s the only place where I can experience a slice of heaven here on earth!” 

As that “slice”, we do believe that God inspires people to explore their spiritual lives at New Life Church. And, as much as we might have to share, the most important people are our guests who always bring us new insights and possibilities.

We are a Lutheran congregation who has been a part of the Madison community for almost 60 years.  Over time, we have been reshaped by the vision of God because we continue to ask God, “What do you hope for us?”  As St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, we have adopted the nickname, “New Life”.  It’s a reflection of that “slice of heaven” that people experience as they are engaged by God.

Now, on our current site since 2003, we look to use the stability of our heritage to be wonderfully creative into our future.  Our hope is to have the kind of congregation that is welcoming, inviting, stimulating, and contemporary with our expressions, while resting securely on the principles and practices of Jesus.

Everyone is welcome to attend any and all activities and events at New Life.  As Jesus said, “come and see.” You just might experience something new of God and find a worship community that is that “slice of heaven” as well.
